Razor Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, the Latin American razor market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, overseas shipments of razors were finally on the rise to reach X tons after six years of decline. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 28%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, razor exports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 13%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mexico prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 91% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), creating a 6.6% share of total exports. Guatemala (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to razor exports from Mexico stood at -6.1%. At the same time, Guatemala (+11.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guatemala emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Brazil (-13.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+12 p.p.) and Guatemala (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Brazil (-5.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest razor supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 4.4% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico stood at -5.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-18.2% per year) and Guatemala (+19.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Razor Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, approx. X tons of razors were imported in Latin America and the Caribbean; jumping by 57% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, razor imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible downturn. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Colombia (X tons), distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), Peru (X tons), Chile (X tons), Argentina (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) represented the largest importers of razors, together creating 74% of total imports. Costa Rica (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons), Panama (X tons), Honduras (X tons), Venezuela (X tons) and El Salvador (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +12.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X), Colombia ($X) and Argentina ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 48% share of total imports. Chile, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and Venezuela lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Guatemala, with a CAGR of +8.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -15.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
