In value terms, textile rubber hose exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +55.6% against 2014 indices. Mexico dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 91% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Brazil (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) - each resulted at a 7.6% share of total exports.
Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the rubber hose reinforced with textiles exports, with a CAGR of +11.0% from 2012 to 2021. Brazil (-1.3%) and Argentina (-2.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Mexico increased by +14 percentage points.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest textile rubber hose supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 91% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 4.1% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico stood at +10.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (-5.9% per year) and Argentina (-6.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -29.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (-0.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
Textile rubber hose imports was estimated at X tons in 2021, rising by 7.9% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, recorded a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, textile rubber hose imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Mexico represented the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which amounted to 64% of total imports. Brazil (X tons) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Argentina (7.6%). Peru (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Mexico decreased at an average annual rate of -2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Argentina (+4.7%), Brazil (+1.7%) and Chile (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +4.7% from 2012-2021. Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Colombia (-1.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Argentina and Brazil increased by +3 and +2.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported rubber hose reinforced with textiles in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico amounted to +1.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-0.4% per year) and Argentina (+4.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 22% against the previous year. Import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, textile rubber hose import price increased by +61.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 32%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
