From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to safety razor blade exports from Mexico stood at -12.1%. Bolivia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Brazil (-11.8%) and Panama (-24.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -14.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Bolivia (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+2.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, purchases abroad of safety razor blades was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 14%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, safety razor blade imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced decrease. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Mexico (X units), distantly followed by Brazil (X units), Cayman Islands (X units), Peru (X units) and Chile (X units) were the main importers of safety razor blades, together achieving 67% of total imports. Guatemala (X units), Costa Rica (X units), the Dominican Republic (X units), Colombia (X units), Trinidad and Tobago (X units), Honduras (X units), Panama (X units) and El Salvador (X units) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Cayman Islands (with a CAGR of +27.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported safety razor blades in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 5.1% share.
