The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Mexico (X units) represented roughly 96% of total exports in 2021.
Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) exports, with a CAGR of -1.8% from 2012 to 2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Mexico decreased by -2.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) also remains the largest semiconductor LED supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -24.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt decrease. In 2021, the amount of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) imported in Latin America and the Caribbean soared to X units, growing by 96% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports saw a significant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, semiconductor LED imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X units) represented the largest importer of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs), committing 68% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X units), generating a 19% share of total imports. Colombia (X units), Chile (X units) and Argentina (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) imports, with a CAGR of +90.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Argentina (+56.4%), Colombia (+49.7%), Chile (+40.8%) and Mexico (+23.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Brazil (+63 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mexico saw its share reduced by -51.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest semiconductor LED importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Brazil ($X), Mexico ($X) and Chile ($X), with a combined 90% share of total imports.
Brazil, with a CAGR of +38.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -11.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a significant contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 15% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (-10.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
