In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 51%. Moreover, Guatemala emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +22.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Chile (-4.0%), Argentina (-4.3%) and Colombia (-8.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Guatemala (+8.8 p.p.) and Brazil (+8.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Argentina, Colombia and Chile saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -3.1% and -12.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported siliceous fossil meals (kieselguhr, tripolite and diatomite) in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 53% of total imports.
