Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 79% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following year.

In value terms, cast iron household articles exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Colombia was the major exporter of table, kitchen or household articles of cast iron in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was near 57% of total exports in 2022. Mexico (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 23% share, followed by Guatemala (6.8%). The following exporters - El Salvador (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) - together made up 11% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cast iron household articles exports from Colombia stood at +22.3%. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (+66.0%), Brazil (+17.4%), El Salvador (+10.7%), Guatemala (+2.4%) and Mexico (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Dominican Republic emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +66.0% from 2012-2022. Colombia (+45 p.p.), the Dominican Republic (+3.9 p.p.) and El Salvador (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Guatemala and Mexico saw its share reduced by -1.7% and -5.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Colombia ($X) remains the largest cast iron household articles supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Colombia totaled +21.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+4.7% per year) and Guatemala (+3.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($X per ton), while El Salvador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

Cast iron household articles imports dropped sharply to X tons in 2022, reducing by -19.3% on the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate noticeable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, cast iron household articles imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Mexico (X tons), distantly followed by Chile (X tons), Brazil (X tons), Argentina (X tons), Colombia (X tons), Peru (X tons), Guatemala (X tons), Ecuador (X tons) and Bolivia (X tons) represented the largest importers of table, kitchen or household articles of cast iron, together generating 81% of total imports. Honduras (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Argentina (with a CAGR of +28.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest cast iron household articles importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Chile ($X), with a combined 50% share of total imports. Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Colombia, Honduras, Ecuador and Bolivia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Argentina, with a CAGR of +40.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 17% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by 31%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Bolivia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+11.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
