The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Mexico dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 93% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), achieving a 4.9% share of total exports.
Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber exports, with a CAGR of +6.7% from 2012 to 2021. Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Mexico increased by +8.4 percentage points.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest rubber tube and pipe supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 5.6% share of total exports.

In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Mexico stood at $X per ton.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, supplies from abroad of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Mexico (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the largest importers of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber in 2021, reaching approx. 35% and 31% of total imports, respectively. Argentina (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Peru (X tons) and Chile (X tons). All these countries together held near 18% share of total imports. Colombia (X tons) and Ecuador (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +5.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest rubber tube and pipe importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Argentina ($X), with a combined 79% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Chile, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, which together accounted for a further 13%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Peru, with a CAGR of +9.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+9.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
