Exports by Country
Mexico represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which accounted for 70% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X units), committing a 15% share of total exports. The following exporters - Argentina (X units), Chile (X units), Colombia (X units) and Cuba (X units) - each recorded an 11% share of total exports.
Exports from Mexico decreased at an average annual rate of -12.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Chile (+9.1%), Colombia (+9.1%) and Cuba (+8.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +9.1% from 2012-2021. Argentina experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Brazil (-31.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+37 p.p.), Colombia (+2.8 p.p.), Chile (+2.8 p.p.), Cuba (+2.6 p.p.) and Argentina (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Brazil (-49.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest turbo-jet (over X kn) supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Cuba, with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico stood at -3.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-20.4% per year) and Cuba (+115.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -27.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2020, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cuba ($X per unit), while Chile ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Cuba (+98.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn decreased by -2.4% to X units for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 16,277% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, turbo-jet (over X kn) imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a strong increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
