It was distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), generating a 14% share of total exports. In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest uncoated mechanical printing and writing papers supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Chile, with a 3.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled -9.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (-8.1% per year) and Chile (-17.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, falling by -8.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a pronounced decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 16%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in the Dominican Republic ($X per ton) and Panama ($X per ton), while Brazil ($X per ton) and Argentina ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported uncoated mechanical printing and writing papers in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico totaled -6.6%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (-16.3% per year) and Colombia (-7.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -3.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 2.1%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Honduras ($X per ton), while Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
