The Dominican Republic represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which amounted to 51% of total exports. Chile (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 31% share, followed by Brazil (5%) and Peru (4.6%). Mexico (X units) took a minor share of total exports.

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 4.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mobile phone export price decreased by -22.4% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 38% against the previous year. Paraguay (X units), the Dominican Republic (X units), Costa Rica (X units), Venezuela (X units) and Uruguay (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Ecuador (with a CAGR of +11.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Colombia, with a CAGR of +14.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 7.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mobile phone import price decreased by -1.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 16%.
