In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest worked wax articles supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Colombia ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Brazil, with a 9.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico totaled +4.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Colombia (-7.7% per year) and Brazil (+20.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per thousand units in 2022, growing by 5.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per thousand units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per thousand units), while Guatemala ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+3.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, worked wax articles imports surged to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 29%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per thousand units), while Guyana ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
