The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -13.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, broom, brush, and mop exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 22%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Russia (X units), Estonia (X units) and Lithuania (X units) were the main destinations of broom, brush, and mop exports from Latvia, with a combined 79% share of total exports. Finland, Ukraine and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 6.4%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +99.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Lithuania ($X), Russia ($X) and Estonia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for broom, brush, and mop exported from Latvia worldwide, together comprising 76% of total exports. Finland, Ukraine and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 6.3%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +73.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average broom, brush, and mop export price amounted to $X per unit, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, broom, brush, and mop export price increased by +65.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Latvia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of brooms, brushes, and mops increased by 23% to X units, rising for the sixth year in a row after three years of decline. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +100.2% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 41%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +29.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 38%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of broom, brush, and mop imports to Latvia, with a combined 67% share of total imports. Lithuania, Estonia, Italy, the Czech Republic and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Estonia (with a CAGR of +23.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the largest broom, brush, and mop suppliers to Latvia, with a combined 51% share of total imports. Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.
Estonia, with a CAGR of +20.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average broom, brush, and mop import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -11.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 22%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
