Estonia (X tons) was the main destination for camel and other animal meat exports from Latvia, with a 93% share of total exports. Moreover, camel and other animal meat exports to Estonia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Estonia amounted to +13.7%.
In value terms, Estonia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for meat of camels and other animals exports from Latvia, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Lithuania ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia amounted to $X per ton.

In 2022, overseas purchases of meat of camels and other animals increased by 51% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 1,478% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, camel and other animal meat imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 972% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Lithuania (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of camel and other animal meat imports to Latvia, together accounting for 81% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +55.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest camel and other animal meat suppliers to Latvia were Germany ($X), Spain ($X) and Lithuania ($X), with a combined 75% share of total imports.
