The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Switzerland (X units), France (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main destinations of electronic chip exports from Libya, together accounting for 93% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +21.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for electronic chips exports from Libya, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Switzerland ($X), with a 0.4% share of total exports.

In value terms, electronic chip imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 332% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) constituted the largest supplier of electronic chip to Libya, with a 34% share of total imports. Moreover, electronic chip imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X units), with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United Arab Emirates amounted to -25.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+5.1% per year) and Italy (-0.4% per year).
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of electronic chips to Libya, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with an 8% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United Arab Emirates totaled -20.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Czech Republic (+61.8% per year) and Germany (-7.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average electronic chip import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, electronic chip import price increased by +73.6% against 2017 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
