Non-Household Fan Market Size in Libya

The Libyan non-household fan market dropped rapidly to $X in 2022, waning by -22.8% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Overall, consumption, however, saw a strong increase. Non-household fan consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, non-household fan exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 1,243%. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The UK (X units), Hungary (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of non-household fan exports from Libya, with a combined 44% share of total exports. Moreover, non-household fan exports in the UK exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest exporter, Hungary, twofold.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +19.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-household ventilation fans exports from Libya, comprising 45% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 1.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 1.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the UK totaled +26.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+7.2% per year) and Hungary (-48.0% per year).

The average non-household fan export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 5.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 341% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Ghana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+19.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Libya

In 2022, imports of non-household ventilation fans into Libya reduced markedly to X units, which is down by -19.7% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 285% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, non-household fan imports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 216% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Turkey (X units) and Malaysia (X units) were the main suppliers of non-household fan imports to Libya, with a combined 42% share of total imports. Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 3.7%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +56.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), China ($X) and Italy ($X) were the largest non-household fan suppliers to Libya, together comprising 27% of total imports. Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 5.9%.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +36.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-household fan import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -6.1% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 51%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
