Non-wheat flour imports into Libya contracted to X tons in 2021, shrinking by -11.2% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, posted a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 51%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-wheat flour imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Ukraine (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-wheat flour to Libya, with a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, non-wheat flour imports from Ukraine exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Egypt (X tons), with a 4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Ukraine totaled +100.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Egypt (-19.5% per year) and Italy (-15.0% per year).
