The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 95% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 111%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Finland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of anise, badian, fennel and coriander to Lithuania, with a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports from Finland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Latvia (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Poland (X tons), with a 4.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Finland stood at +13.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Latvia (+19.3% per year) and Poland (+2.1% per year).

In value terms, Finland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of anise, badian, fennel and coriander to Lithuania, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Latvia ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 7.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Finland totaled +12.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Latvia (+19.9% per year) and Poland (+5.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 47%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
