In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for brooms, brushes, and mops exports from Lithuania, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 9.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled +7.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (-2.9% per year) and Latvia (+18.3% per year).

The average broom, brush, and mop export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -12.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 22% against the previous year. Imports into Lithuania

In 2022, the amount of brooms, brushes, and mops imported into Lithuania surged to X units, jumping by 30% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, broom, brush, and mop imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Poland (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of broom, brush, and mop imports to Lithuania, together comprising 70% of total imports. Latvia, Malaysia, Estonia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Italy and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 11% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while the price for Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
