In general, exports showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 19%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood (excl. windows, doors, posts and beams, assembled flooring panels) declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Denmark (X tons) was the main destination for exports of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood (excl. windows, doors, posts and beams, assembled flooring panels) from Lithuania, with a 31% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood (excl. windows, doors, posts and beams, assembled flooring panels) to Denmark exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Norway (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Sweden (X tons), with a 9.4% share.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood (excl. windows, doors, posts and beams, assembled flooring panels) to Lithuania, together accounting for 53% of total imports. Poland, Italy, Estonia, Finland and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +38.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, import price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
