Imports into Lithuania
In 2022, purchases abroad of casein glues and caseinates and other casein derivatives increased by 5.6% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after four years of decline. In general, imports saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Poland (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of casein glue and caseinates imports to Lithuania, with a combined 84% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Hungary, France, Denmark and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +45.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
