Russia (X units), Kazakhstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) were the main destinations of hair, shaving and toilet brush exports from Lithuania, together comprising 72% of total exports. Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Finland and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +80.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for hair brushes and shaving and toilet brushes for personal use exports from Lithuania, comprising 43% of total exports. In 2022, purchases abroad of hair brushes and shaving and toilet brushes for personal use decreased by -9.4% to X units for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, hair, shaving and toilet brush imports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 26%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest hair, shaving and toilet brush supplier to Lithuania, with a 37% share of total imports. Moreover, hair, shaving and toilet brush imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X units), threefold. Germany (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +6.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (-4.1% per year) and Germany (+15.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X), Poland ($X) and Spain ($X) were the largest hair, shaving and toilet brush suppliers to Lithuania, together accounting for 45% of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Spain, with a CAGR of +28.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for hair brushes and shaving and toilet brushes for personal use amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 21% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade.
