Halogenated Hydrocarbon Derivative Market Size in Lithuania
The Lithuanian halogenated hydrocarbon derivative market contracted sharply to $X in 2022, dropping by -32.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a buoyant increase. Halogenated hydrocarbon derivative consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative production skyrocketed to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 210% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports from Lithuania
In 2022, shipments abroad of halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons increased by 41% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 69%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 249% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) were the main destinations of halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports from Lithuania, together comprising 51% of total exports. Kazakhstan, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Austria, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Armenia (with a CAGR of +65.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exported from Lithuania were Kazakhstan ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 40% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +47.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average halogenated hydrocarbon derivative export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 106% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Halogenated Hydrocarbon Derivative Imports
Imports into Lithuania
In 2022, approx. X tons of halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons were imported into Lithuania; waning by -6% on the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative imports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a notable expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 123% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest halogenated hydrocarbon derivative supplier to Lithuania, accounting for a 46% share of total imports. Moreover, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X tons), with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-6.2% per year) and China (-9.2% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons to Lithuania, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Estonia ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 9.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany totaled +9.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Estonia (+88.8% per year) and China (-8.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average halogenated hydrocarbon derivative import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, which is down by -2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+17.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
