As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main destinations of malt exports from Lithuania, with a combined 57% share of total exports. Nicaragua, Guatemala, Ghana, Mexico and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ghana (with a CAGR of +279.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Estonia ($X) and Latvia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for malt exported from Lithuania worldwide, together accounting for 50% of total exports. Nicaragua, Ghana, Guatemala, Mexico and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Ghana, with a CAGR of +492.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average malt export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 46% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, malt export price increased by +64.1% against 2015 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Guatemala ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+56.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Lithuania
Malt imports into Lithuania expanded to X tons in 2022, picking up by 4.5% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 49%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, malt imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Finland (X tons) were the main suppliers of malt imports to Lithuania, with a combined 73% share of total imports. Austria, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of +88.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Germany ($X) and Austria ($X) constituted the largest malt suppliers to Lithuania, with a combined 61% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of +88.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 35%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
