The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 13,102%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Gibraltar (X tons), Morocco (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures exports from Lithuania, with a combined 99.9% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 162,895%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

In value terms, aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 74,989% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures supplier to Lithuania, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), fivefold. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Poland stood at +159.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (+122.7% per year) and Turkey (0.0% per year).

In 2022, the average aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 152% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
