From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to India was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (+66.5% per year) and Poland (+130.1% per year).

In 2022, the average newsprint export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 54%. In 2022, overseas purchases of newsprint increased by 180% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after four years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate notable growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest newsprint supplier to Lithuania, accounting for a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, newsprint imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Finland (X tons), fourfold. Latvia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +4.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Finland (+27.0% per year) and Latvia (+15.8% per year).

The average newsprint import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 28%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
