In general, imports, however, recorded a moderate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 506%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, phosphinates and phosphonates imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 845% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest phosphinates and phosphonates supplier to Lithuania, accounting for a 79% share of total imports. Moreover, phosphinates and phosphonates imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovenia (X tons), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany stood at +19.6%.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of phosphinates (hypophosphites) and phosphonates (phosphites) to Lithuania, comprising 95% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Slovenia ($X), with a 3.8% share of total imports.
