Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
India (X tons), Italy (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of primary fiber crops exports from Lithuania, with a combined X% share of total exports. Estonia, China, Turkey, Pakistan, Spain, Belgium, Brazil and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Estonia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Lithuania
In 2022, purchases abroad of fiber crops (primary) decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of primary fiber crops imports to Lithuania, together accounting for X% of total imports. Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Egypt and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
