In value terms, starch manufacture residues exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 248%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

Latvia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of starch manufacture residues exports from Lithuania, with a combined 89% share of total exports. Norway and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 10%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +69.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after five years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of residues of starch manufacture, when their volume decreased by -1.9% to X tons. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 79%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, starch manufacture residues imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 113%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Ukraine (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of starch manufacture residues imports to Lithuania, with a combined 88% share of total imports. Latvia, Denmark and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.8%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of +28.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest starch manufacture residues suppliers to Lithuania were Ukraine ($X), Hungary ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 88% share of total imports.
