In 2022, the amount of self-adhesive printed labels exported from Lithuania dropped remarkably to X tons, reducing by -32.6% against the year before. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -42.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 33%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, self-adhesive printed label exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 30%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of self-adhesive printed label exports from Lithuania, together comprising 69% of total exports. Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Norway (with a CAGR of +48.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Latvia ($X) and Sweden ($X) were the largest markets for self-adhesive printed label exported from Lithuania worldwide, with a combined 62% share of total exports. Poland, Norway, Estonia, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
Norway, with a CAGR of +36.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average self-adhesive printed label export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 4.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Lithuania
In 2022, purchases abroad of self-adhesive printed labels decreased by -13.1% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.9% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, self-adhesive printed label imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 16%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Latvia (X tons) constituted the largest self-adhesive printed label supplier to Lithuania, accounting for a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, self-adhesive printed label imports from Latvia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Estonia (X tons), twofold. Belarus (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Latvia stood at -3.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Estonia (+46.7% per year) and Belarus (+20.9% per year).
In value terms, Latvia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of self-adhesive printed labels to Lithuania, comprising 29% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Estonia ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Malta, with a 9.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Latvia amounted to -2.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Estonia (+31.4% per year) and Malta (+292.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average self-adhesive printed label import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 8.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 32% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
