In general, exports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet exports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 87%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Exports by Country
Estonia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main destinations of cellulose fibrecement sheet exports from Lithuania, with a combined 64% share of total exports. Belgium, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Russia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +220.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for cellulose fibrecement sheet exported from Lithuania were Kazakhstan ($X), Germany ($X) and Estonia ($X), with a combined 58% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +213.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cellulose Fibrecement Sheet Imports
Imports into Lithuania
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of sheets, panels and tiles of cellulose fibrecement decreased by -2.3% to X tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
Imports by Country
Austria (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of cellulose fibrecement sheet imports to Lithuania, together comprising 61% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of +80.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Austria ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sheets, panels and tiles of cellulose fibrecement to Lithuania, comprising 37% of total imports.
