In value terms, candy, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Latvia (X tons), the UK (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of candy, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery exports from Lithuania, together comprising 48% of total exports. Poland, Estonia, Russia, Morocco, Germany, Kazakhstan, Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Norway (with a CAGR of +99.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Latvia ($X), the UK ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the largest markets for candy, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery exported from Lithuania worldwide, with a combined 52% share of total exports. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
