X-Ray Apparatus Market Size in Lithuania

The Lithuanian x-ray apparatus market fell rapidly to $X in 2022, dropping by -26.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption showed a abrupt downturn. In value terms, x-ray apparatus exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 214% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Russia (X units) was the main destination for x-ray apparatus exports from Lithuania, accounting for a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, x-ray apparatus exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Estonia (X units), ninefold. Belarus (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at +2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (+16.4% per year) and Belarus (+12.9% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for x-ray apparatus exports from Lithuania, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 8.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia amounted to -6.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+49.6% per year) and Belarus (+15.2% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average x-ray apparatus export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 88%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Lithuania

In 2022, purchases abroad of x-ray apparatus decreased by -40.7% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a measured expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 111% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, x-ray apparatus imports dropped significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 95%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United States (X units), Italy (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of x-ray apparatus imports to Lithuania, together accounting for 61% of total imports. Germany, France, Denmark, Japan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +347.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest x-ray apparatus suppliers to Lithuania, with a combined 53% share of total imports. The United States, Bulgaria, Denmark, Belgium, France, Estonia, Japan, Hungary and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.

Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +340.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average x-ray apparatus import price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 88% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per unit), while the price for Latvia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
