From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to France totaled -4.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (+7.5% per year) and Germany (+24.4% per year).

The average canned meat export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 13% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, canned meat export price decreased by -10.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 56% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, approx. X tons of canned meat were imported into Luxembourg; increasing by 5.8% on the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Belgium totaled +5.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-0.5% per year) and Germany (+6.0% per year).
In value terms, Belgium ($X) constituted the largest supplier of canned meat to Luxembourg, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 9.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Belgium stood at +5.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+0.5% per year) and Germany (+3.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average canned meat import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 5.7% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
