In 2021, after two years of decline, there was growth in the Malaysian accordion market, when its value increased by 4.3% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, saw a deep slump. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2021, purchases abroad of accordions and mouth organs decreased by -0.2% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt slump. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
