Mauritius, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Lao People's Democratic Republic, New Zealand, Taiwan (Chinese), Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Papua New Guinea (with a CAGR of +27.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Singapore ($X), Myanmar ($X) and Cambodia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for glass bottle, jar and container exported from Malaysia worldwide, together comprising 71% of total exports. These countries were followed by Indonesia, Mauritius, Taiwan (Chinese), Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Thailand, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Vietnam and the Philippines, which together accounted for a further 25%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 47%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of glass bottle, jar and container to Malaysia, accounting for a 71% share of total imports. Moreover, glass bottle, jar and container imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X units), fourfold. Indonesia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (-1.8% per year) and Indonesia (+3.0% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bottles, jars and other containers of glass to Malaysia, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 10% share.
