Imports into Malaysia
Marble granules and powder imports into Malaysia dropped to X tons in 2021, remaining stable against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 253%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 247% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

India (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of marble granules and powder imports to Malaysia, together accounting for 74% of total imports. China, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Taiwan (Chinese) and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of +29.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
