Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Vietnam ($X per unit) and Mexico ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per unit) and Singapore ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of porous-tipped pens and markers increased by 5% to X units in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 26%. Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, porous-tipped pen imports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
