Textile Tubing Market Size in Malaysia

In 2022, the Malaysian textile tubing market decreased by -4.5% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, consumption, however, saw a resilient increase. Textile tubing consumption peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing increased by 11% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 228% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 105%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Singapore (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main destinations of textile tubing exports from Malaysia, with a combined 68% share of total exports. Bangladesh, Australia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

In 2022, the average textile tubing export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -3% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, textile tubing export price decreased by -17.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 65% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. In 2022, the amount of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing imported into Malaysia declined to X tons, dropping by -3.4% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 25%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing imports rose to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
