The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, titanium exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons), Australia (X tons) and Oman (X tons) were the main destinations of titanium exports from Malaysia, together comprising 47% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +3.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, Australia ($X), India ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) constituted the largest markets for titanium exported from Malaysia worldwide, together accounting for 57% of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a precipitous setback. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, titanium imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a precipitous descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 151%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Australia (X tons) constituted the largest titanium supplier to Malaysia, accounting for a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, titanium imports from Australia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), eightfold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Australia stood at -34.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+7.8% per year) and the Netherlands (+18.6% per year).
In value terms, Australia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs to Malaysia, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with an 8.8% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 4.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Australia amounted to -33.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+20.4% per year) and the United States (+4.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
