Poland, Australia, Lithuania, Thailand, Germany, Taiwan (Chinese), Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.7%.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of tyres for buses or lorries, when their volume decreased by -5.2% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, truck and bus tyre imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of truck and bus tyre to Malaysia, with a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, truck and bus tyre imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Vietnam (X units), with a 7.9% share.
