Agricultural Appliance Market Size in MENA

In 2021, the MENA's agricultural appliance market decreased by -39.7% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, consumption enjoyed a strong expansion. Turkey was the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which resulted at 58% of total exports. Israel (X units) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Saudi Arabia (11%) and the United Arab Emirates (6.1%).

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the agricultural appliances exports, with a CAGR of +89.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+16.2%) and Saudi Arabia (+13.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Israel experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -5.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 7.4%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Saudi Arabia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Agricultural appliance imports stood at X units in 2021, picking up by 15% compared with the previous year. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +89.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 54%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, agricultural appliance imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +54.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 41%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of agricultural appliance imports in 2021 were Morocco (X units), Algeria (X units) and Iraq (X units), together accounting for 67% of total import. Egypt (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.6% share, followed by Qatar (7%) and Turkey (5.9%). The United Arab Emirates (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Algeria (with a CAGR of +37.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Morocco ($X), Algeria ($X) and Turkey ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 46% share of total imports. Iraq, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

Qatar, with a CAGR of +14.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Iraq ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+4.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
