In value terms, calendars and trade advertising material exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Exports by Country
Turkey was the major exporter of calendars and trade advertising material in MENA, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near 67% of total exports in 2022. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Tunisia (7.5%) and Israel (6.4%). Egypt (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the calendars and trade advertising material exports, with a CAGR of +9.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Tunisia (+3.5%) and Egypt (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Israel (-1.8%) and the United Arab Emirates (-7.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+34 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Israel (-3.2 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (-22.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest calendars and trade advertising material supplier in MENA, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Israel, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey amounted to +13.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-7.4% per year) and Israel (-1.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 16%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Calendars And Trade Advertising Material
Imports in MENA
In 2022, the amount of calendars and trade advertising material imported in MENA dropped notably to X tons, waning by -15.4% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 5.9% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, calendars and trade advertising material imports fell notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) represented roughly 36% of total imports in 2022. Morocco (X tons) held a 9.7% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Iran (8.1%), Israel (7.8%), Egypt (7.5%), Tunisia (5.8%) and Iraq (4.8%). Kuwait (X tons), Libya (X tons), Djibouti (X tons), Algeria (X tons) and Oman (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Libya (with a CAGR of +9.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest calendars and trade advertising material importing markets in MENA were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Israel ($X), together comprising 55% of total imports. Morocco, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Iran, Algeria, Libya, Oman and Djibouti lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Libya, with a CAGR of +6.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, falling by -2.6% against the previous year. Import price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, calendars and trade advertising material import price increased by +51.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
