In 2021, Turkey (X units) was the major exporter of centrifugal clothes-dryers, comprising 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X units), generating a 12% share of total exports. The following exporters - the United Arab Emirates (X units), Bahrain (X units) and Tunisia (X units) - together made up 9.2% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to centrifugal clothes-dryer exports from Turkey stood at -36.0%. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+91.2%), Tunisia (+13.5%) and Bahrain (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +91.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-13.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Saudi Arabia (+12 p.p.), Bahrain (+3.5 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+3.3 p.p.) and Tunisia (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Turkey saw its share reduced by -22.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest centrifugal clothes-dryer supplier in MENA, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($X), with an 8.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Tunisia, with a 6.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled -35.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+90.8% per year) and Tunisia (+28.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -2.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 20%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (+13.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Iraq (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Egypt (X units) and Qatar (X units). All these countries together took near 37% share of total imports. The following importers - Oman (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units), Algeria (X units), Bahrain (X units), Israel (X units), Djibouti (X units), Lebanon (X units) and Morocco (X units) - together made up 22% of total imports.

Jordan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the centrifugal clothes-dryers imports, with a CAGR of +29.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Israel (+24.1%), Djibouti (+21.2%), Egypt (+18.2%) and Iraq (+11.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Algeria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Oman (-3.5%), Morocco (-4.2%), the United Arab Emirates (-11.0%), Bahrain (-19.4%), Qatar (-20.0%) and Lebanon (-23.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Jordan (+35 p.p.), Iraq (+14 p.p.), Egypt (+10 p.p.), Israel (+2.5 p.p.) and Djibouti (+2.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-2.5 p.p.), Bahrain (-9.6 p.p.), Lebanon (-13.3 p.p.) and Qatar (-23.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest centrifugal clothes-dryer importing markets in MENA were Jordan ($X), Qatar ($X) and Iraq ($X), together comprising 12% of total imports.

Jordan, with a CAGR of +29.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -32.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 143%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2020, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Lebanon ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
