The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, concentrated orange juice exports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Israel (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented roughly 66% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Egypt (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons), together generating a 24% share of total exports. The following exporters - Morocco (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) - together made up 5.7% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +41.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest concentrated orange juice supplier in MENA, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Israel amounted to -6.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (-5.7% per year) and Egypt (-4.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Concentrated orange juice imports reduced sharply to X tons in 2021, falling by -17.2% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Saudi Arabia (X tons), distantly followed by Israel (X tons), Oman (X tons), Bahrain (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Egypt (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Algeria (X tons) represented the main importers of concentrated orange juice, together creating 84% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Egypt (with a CAGR of +19.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X), Israel ($X) and Turkey ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 64% of total imports. These countries were followed by Egypt, Oman, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which together accounted for a further 25%.
Among the main importing countries, Egypt, with a CAGR of +24.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Bahrain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
