Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 95% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Turkey (X units) was the largest exporter of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products, achieving 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Iran (X units), comprising a 17% share of total exports. Jordan (X units) held a little share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +13.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Iran (+31.3%) and Jordan (+18.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +31.3% from 2012-2021. Turkey (+13 p.p.), Iran (+13 p.p.) and Jordan (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest agricultural product dryer supplier in MENA, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Iran ($X), with a 5.1% share of total exports.

In Turkey, agricultural product dryer exports expanded at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iran (+33.6% per year) and Jordan (+68.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Jordan (+8.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, imports of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in MENA skyrocketed to X units, picking up by 58% on 2020 figures. Overall, imports enjoyed measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 317% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw perceptible growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The countries with the highest levels of agricultural product dryer imports in 2021 were Lebanon (X units), Turkey (X units) and Libya (X units), together recording 80% of total import. Iraq (X units), Yemen (X units), Morocco (X units), Israel (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units), Egypt (X units), Oman (X units) and Jordan (X units) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Lebanon (with a CAGR of +89.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in MENA, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with a 7.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Iraq, with a 6.7% share.

In Turkey, agricultural product dryer imports expanded at an average annual rate of +10.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Egypt (-10.3% per year) and Iraq (+47.2% per year).

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 44% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 552%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while Libya ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
