The volume of export peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, off-highway dumper exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) represented the major exporters of dumpers for off-highway use in MENA, together generating 65% of total exports. Turkey (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Oman (X units). All these countries together held near 20% share of total exports. Kuwait (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Djibouti (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +68.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+3.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, off-highway dumper imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates represented the major importer of dumpers for off-highway use in MENA, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 33% of total imports in 2021. Jordan (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Iraq (X units), Turkey (X units), Israel (X units), Egypt (X units) and Kuwait (X units). All these countries together held near 56% share of total imports.

The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of dumpers for off-highway use. At the same time, Iraq (+11.3%), Kuwait (+9.5%), Turkey (+5.4%) and Egypt (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +11.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Jordan (-11.1%) and Israel (-12.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+14 p.p.), Iraq (+11 p.p.), Turkey (+6.2 p.p.), Kuwait (+3.7 p.p.) and Egypt (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Israel (-6.3 p.p.) and Jordan (-11 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported dumpers for off-highway use in MENA, comprising 31% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Jordan, with an 8.3% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, off-highway dumper imports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+8.8% per year) and Jordan (-6.2% per year).

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -3.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%.
