In value terms, feldspar production fell slightly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In 2021, overseas shipments of feldspar were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, exports recorded a buoyant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, feldspar exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate resilient growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Turkey dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was near 97% of total exports in 2021. Morocco (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to feldspar exports from Turkey stood at +13.4%. At the same time, Morocco (+61.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +61.8% from 2012-2021. Morocco (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest feldspar supplier in MENA, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Morocco ($X), with a 1.4% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey totaled +15.7%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 9.8%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Morocco totaled $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.2%).

In 2021, supplies from abroad of feldspar was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, feldspar imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates represented the key importer of feldspar in MENA, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 48% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Tunisia (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Algeria (X tons), together mixing up a 46% share of total imports. Kuwait (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tunisia (+10.5%), Israel (+8.4%), Algeria (+7.7%), Kuwait (+6.3%), Egypt (+4.4%) and Turkey (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tunisia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +10.5% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Tunisia, Israel, Egypt and Algeria increased by +11, +2.3, +2.2 and +1.9 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest feldspar importing markets in MENA were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Egypt ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for 63% of total imports. Tunisia, Israel, Algeria and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Kuwait, with a CAGR of +5.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Tunisia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
