The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest engine generator supplier in MENA, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey amounted to -4.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+8.1% per year) and Tunisia (-6.3% per year).

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 11%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of generators for internal combustion engines decreased by -1.6% to X units in 2022. In general, imports saw a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, engine generator imports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. Turkey (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) represented the major importers of generators for internal combustion engines in 2022, accounting for near 31% and 26% of total imports, respectively. Morocco (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 15% share, followed by Iraq (5.1%) and Algeria (5%). Israel (X units) and Iran (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
