Turkey was the major exporting country with an export of about X units, which amounted to 59% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Morocco (X units), together committing a 27% share of total exports. The following exporters - Syrian Arab Republic (X units), Algeria (X units) and Egypt (X units) - together made up 9.6% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to hand sieve exports from Turkey stood at +2.6%. At the same time, Morocco (+19.6%), Algeria (+15.6%) and Syrian Arab Republic (+11.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +19.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Egypt (-1.9%) and the United Arab Emirates (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+14 p.p.), Morocco (+4.3 p.p.), Syrian Arab Republic (+2.9 p.p.), Egypt (+2.4 p.p.) and Algeria (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -19.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest hand sieve supplier in MENA, comprising 62% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Syrian Arab Republic ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey totaled +5.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Syrian Arab Republic (+6.0% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-14.5% per year).

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -7.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 66% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while Algeria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 109%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

From 2015 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Lebanon ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
