The United Arab Emirates (X units), Israel (X units), Turkey (X units) and Morocco (X units) represented roughly 78% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Algeria (X units), generating a 7.7% share of total imports. The following importers - Egypt (X units), Iraq (X units) and Libya (X units) - together made up 8.8% of total imports.

In value terms, the largest hay-making machinery importing markets in MENA were Israel ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Iraq, which together accounted for a further 23%.

Libya, with a CAGR of +27.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -6.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 25% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Libya ($X per unit), while Morocco ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
